Show answer for: Are Schmidt's products recyclable?

Are Schmidt’s products recyclable?

Yes! All of our packaging is recyclable, once emptied. Additionally, we are proud to say that our home care products are packaged in PCR (post-consumer recycled plastic).

Here’s a breakdown of recycling instructions by product:

  • Soap bar boxes and deodorant jars: Once emptied of all product, place in curbside bins according to local sorting requirements.
  • Deodorant sticks: Twist bottom dial up until inner plastic mechanism pops out from the tube. Wipe off any remaining deodorant from inner tube. Check locally if sticks can be recycled curbside or must be dropped off at a designated site.
  • Toothpaste tubes & caps: Remove cap, empty tube, then recycle each component per local sorting requirements.
  • Laundry and cleaning vinegars: Thoroughly clean and empty bottles, reattach cap/sprayer, then place in curbside bins according to local sorting requirements.

Schmidt’s has partnered with leading global certifier Ecocert to achieve the Cosmos Natural certification on all products. We are the first and only deodorant in North America to be certified natural! Products that are Cosmos Natural (“certified natural”) meet specific criteria, including a baseline percentage of ingredients that are of natural origin (Schmidt’s deos are made from 100% natural origin ingredients), a commitment to environmentally-friendly manufacturing practices, responsible use of natural resources, absence of GMOs, petrochemicals, parabens, phenoxyethanol, perfumes, and synthetic colorants, and use of recyclable packaging.
