Schmidt’s bar soaps were tested by two contributors at Willamette Week, resulting in a favorable reception. Touted as long-lasting and capable of a rich lather, the soaps were noted as being free of detergents, artificial fragrance, preservatives, dyes, and plastic packaging. For use in the shower and at the sink alike, Schmidt’s bar soaps were evaluated as not developing the oft-eventual soap slime and possessing a “stately” quality. Pleasantly familiar scents (see: the Schmidt’s deodorant collection) and natural ingredients won the soap-testers over.
